Generations Connected through Cybernetics and Statistics

A celebration of excellence, shared roots, and professional journeys - April 10, 2025

The event "Generations connected through Cybernetics and Statistics", held on April 10, 2025, was a true celebration of excellence, common roots, and professional paths that originate in the same institution - the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics, known today as the Faculty of Information Technologies and Economic Statistics (TISE).

The meeting was organized with the involvement of the ASEM Students' and Master's Trade Union Committee, the TISE Faculty, and the IT4BA (Innovative Technologies for Business Application) Innovation Incubator, bringing together students, professors, and graduates from various generations. They sincerely and emotionally shared memories of their beginnings, the challenges they faced in their careers, and the formative role of the faculty in their professional development.

A Dynamic and Inspiring Meeting

The event was moderated by Maria-Beatricie Grunzu, a first-year student at the TISE Faculty, group CIB-241, ASEM, who brought a dynamic and professional tone to the entire meeting.

The official opening was honored by First Vice-Rector Angela Casian, who addressed an inspiring and encouraging message to the young people present, emphasizing the importance of generational continuity, active involvement, and the value of ASEM’s academic tradition in the context of new digital realities.

Guests and Alumni

Among the special guests of the event were graduates from recent promotions, active in fields such as IT, data science, digital marketing, project management, audit, and statistics, representing renowned companies such as:

  • EstComputer
  • National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)
  • Arobs Software
  • Real Business Consulting
  • ViaScope
  • Continent
  • World Bank
  • Endava
  • MAIB

A special moment of the event was the presence of the founding professors of the faculty, who modestly shared the vision behind the faculty's establishment and the early steps in computer use. Their joy was evident in seeing how the "seeds planted then" flourished into valuable and sustainable careers.

Networking and Dialogue between Generations

After the presentations, discussions continued in an informal setting, accompanied by snacks, coffee, and good cheer. Networking was natural and authentic - a real dialogue between generations and ideas.

Mrs. Dean Zinovia Toaca concluded the event, thanking all participants and emphasizing the importance of organizing such meetings, which bring together students, graduates, and professors to discuss careers, innovation, and the future.

At the end, the guests had the opportunity to visit the IT4BA Incubator, located in Block B, 8th floor. Mrs. Svetlana Ghetmancenco, the incubator administrator, presented the facilities and opportunities offered by this space, highlighting that it is an environment where innovative ideas can be tested and developed through the natural connection between students, teachers, and the business environment.
